How to choose the best website builder software

The question here is how to choose the best website builder software. There are literally thousands of related software on the web. Just visit a search engine and enter the term “website builder software”. You will get tons of results. Before you choose which website builder software is best for you read this article. It might help you find what you really need.

When choosing a website builder software you must pay attention to the features of the software. You need to make sure this software can do what you want it to do. Is there any WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editors? A general easy to use interface? How about a step by step guide introducing you to the software? Definitely it will take some time to learn to use the website builder but is there a feeling telling you that this is the software you need? Also, before deciding to spend any money on it see if there’s a free trial version that will let you test the product.

Then the support issues. Does the company that offers the website builder software also offers dedicated support? What about free for life updates or installation support? The best would be to find a website builder that can be easily handled by you without the need of a support team. You must be prepared for problems that require some support though. Just in case.

Pay special attention to the user’s guide. You might want to read it before installing the website builder software. Apart from the user’s guide are there any other type of tutorials like video tutorials that will show you how the website builder works? Serious software companies should offer video tutorials. Look for them and watch them to get an idea of how the software works before installing.

One other issue that will arise when choosing for website builder software is whether you are willing to spend some money or not. There are free website builders that produce good results but usually the support is bad and your software could be outdated soon. I think though, that there are free solutions worth checking (see below). Then there are website builder software where you have to pay an one time fee to acquire the software or agree to a membership where you pay an amount of money every month. It’s up to you to decide which way to go. Some will tell you that if you want the best website builder software you must pay for it. My opinion is slightly different.…

Website Design: Improve your Navigation

There are billions of different Web pages floating around the Internet, and unless you have the ability to trawl Google and memorise the URL of every page of every site, there’s no way you’d survive out there without a little help.

Thankfully, we don’t have to wander round the Web feeling our way like a zombie in a maze. Navigation forms the basis of any Web site, and always has done. Despite the fact that it is a necessity of Web design, it has become something of an afterthought for many designers, as they concentrate on trying to get clever with content.

Navigation remains the single most essential aspect of site construction, and the wonders of modern technology mean you can guide your visitors around your site in a range of innovative ways to make their online experiences all the richer and more rewarding.

What’s the point of navigation?

For the benefit of anyone arriving on the planet in the last few minutes, the base principle of site navigation is to help your visitors find their way around your Web site, providing links to all its pages. Common sense reasons that it is imperative that your site is easy to navigate or your guests will soon leave the party for pastures new.

The home page of a web site is where visitors form their impressions about the entire design, and its importance far outweighs that of the other pages that make up the site. The same theory applies to the site’s navigation mechanism, ie if you manage to convince new visitors to make the step from your home page to one of your sub pages, the chances of them wanting to peruse the other delights on your site increase no end.

Proper site navigation should give the visitor a sense of ‘place’ within the site. it should help you maintain consistency throughout the site, even establishing something of a brand. It’s important that anyone delving through your site knows how to get back to where they started, otherwise they’re likely to flee in frustration.

Your navigation system should also encourage the user to explore other areas of the site by suggesting pages of related interest, and challenge their minds by pointing them towards more obscure links elsewhere online that will interest them. Ultimately, your top priority when designing site navigation is to ensure that the user doesn’t have to work hard to find everything you’re offering.

Traditional navigation

Back in the old days, navigating the Web was a completely different experience from the one you’ll see today. We all know that developments in Web design software have made it easy to create prettier pages with flashy graphics and stylish content, but site navigation has also evolved considerably.

In the late Nineties, when the Web was just beginning to take shape, the core device for site navigation was the trusty textual link, and a blue underlined piece of text was your ticket to a world of information. once clicked, the text …

The Default Username and Password for Linksys Router Reset Configuration

Cisco Systems Inc. has come out with the Linksys router which is of great benefits to the networking world. Available in wired or wireless, it has certainly enables communication, Intranet systems and Internet works in a broader sense. It also helps up speed of data and information to be transferred in businesses or for personal purposes. The router comes in several models and each one may have different configuration settings.

Along the way, there will be times when there is the need arise for the Linksys router reset to takes place. When there are instances a person forgets his or her password or there is a major re-setting up to be carried out. The default username and password will come as useful when this happens. Although this information is already set in the router as it is the default factory login, it is still beneficial to know about it. These are the default settings for different models:

Model Comcast (username: Comcast, password: 1234)

Model EtherFast Cable/DSL Ethernet router (username: Administrator, password: none)

Model BEFW11S4, WRT54G (username: admin, password: none)

Other Linksys routers model (username: admin, password: none)

The word none means there is no password required. It could be skipped by leaving it blank and enter to log in. However it is highly advisable that in Linksys router reset, each user should enter in his or her own personal password which will protect the router from being detected and used by other unintended people. This is an important aspect of security and one could be considered unwise if leave the username and password at the usual default setting as everyone would have know what it is. Another important thing is to keep in mind the password that has been set as forgetting it too often leads to repeated resetting up which will be troublesome.

Why Should I Encrypt My Wireless Network?

When I was contracting work form the cable company a while back I noticed that most people with wireless routers did not have them encrypted. They would tell me stories like, “It keeps booting me every 10 minutes or so”. Another thing some would say, “I can’t get on my wireless anymore it keeps asking for a password”. Then they would tell me, “They never set a password and don’t understand why it would be asking for one”. I would have to tell them how they were most likely hacked by a neighbor or someone close by and they set up the password.

Well on some routers there is a security feature that will boot any person that is not logged in with an encryption key code. This would be the reason some people kept getting booted every ten minutes. But the few that told me about the new password being set had a whole different problem all together. After telling them a neighbor did it, confused them even more. They were baffled as to how they could do something like that. I explained to them how the modem comes with default settings.

Every modem comes with default settings. If you type the routers IP address (usually depending on modem) in the browser address bar a log in box will appear. You will need a pass word and login name so you think by looking at it. Most routers you just leave the login blank and the password by default is admin. Now if someone is able to access the internet through your router because it is not encrypted, they can also access the control panel of the router and change things like passwords and logins. Once someone does this everyone connected to the wireless router will be booted immediately and asked for the encryption key to re-log on. The only way to fix this is by holding the reset button on the router the way the instructions ask you to.

Now this can all be avoided by simply making sure your wireless router is encrypted. You do not want people you do not know and trust using your internet connection. Even if they do not change the password on you, they can still use your internet connection to commit crimes online or even have access to copying your sensitive files. If you do not know how to encrypt your wireless network there are many sites that offer free help with this kind of stuff.…

Stay Connected With a Wireless Router

Get a faster, easier way to build a network and stay connected. Go wireless with a wireless router.

Wireless networks are the latest innovations in the mobile computing industry. It spurs a huge demand for wireless broadband routers to integrate networks and systems. Whether at home or at work, more and more people are finding it easier to work using a wireless network. It is more convenient.

A wireless router is a device that works both as a regular router and a wireless access point. It enables access to the internet or a network of computers minus a cabled connection.

Because wireless routers are flexible devices, they can function in either wired LAN, WLAN or both. A wireless router is equipped with additional features similar to those in discrete wireless access points or WAPs. These wireless devices make use of common wireless frequency bands used license-free in many countries around the world. However, wireless devices communicating with your wireless routers must be set to the same radio channel and service set identifiers.

Putting in place a wireless network is an excellent way to share internet connection, files and even hardware devices such as printers, faxes and copiers.

Wireless network begins with its core – a wireless router. Note that you would also need to re-route your internet connection to the router so that all computers in your network or system connect to the internet directly through your router.

You don’t necessarily need a router to build a network or connect to the internet. But a router simplifies both tasks while maintaining top speeds. This is basically why wireless routers are becoming popular now.

Choose a network router. There are basic, low-range selections with speeds of up to 56 mbps. But if you need a wider range, you’d benefit from ultra-range routers or other dual-band options. If you can afford it, it is advisable to get the latest model already since the advancement of technology is fast paced. It is very easy for technological items to become obsolete.

A common choice by consumers is the 802.11b and 802.11g WiFi models. Some manufacturers offer combo packs containing a wireless router and a network adapter used in wireless LANs, both of the same standard. Aside from compatibility of hardware devices, these combo packs are normally less expensive than the combined individual prices of a network card and a router.

A word of caution: Discounts and combo prices are not usually offered for latest models which are presumably, better performing. It is always better to check product specifications against your requirements before using price as a controlling factor in your decisions.

To install, plug network routers directly to a power source using an ordinary home electrical socket or a protected line with voltage regulators. When turned on, indicator lights (LEDs) would tell you whether the unit is working as it should.

Configure it after installing to secure your network. This makes sure that your connection is restricted only to the computers you share the …

How To Set Up A Desktop Computer

If you have just purchased a desktop computer, you may have opened the box and wondered what next. If you need help in setting up your desktop computer, then try the following steps.

Begin by connecting your mouse and keyboard to the CPU. These may have either flat or round connectors. If the connectors are round, then the cord should connect to the corresponding round ports on the back of the computer. Many times the ports and connectors are color coded to make the connection even easier. If the connectors are flat, then they are designed to plug into USB ports. Your computer should have several of these. Any USB device can plug into any USB port, but try to use the ports located on the back of the computer and save the ones on the front for peripherals that will need to plug into the computer for short periods.

Attach the monitor to the CPU. Most monitors use an round cable that has a thumb screw connector on either end. The adapter on this cable attaches to the video port on the computer and to the port on the back of your monitor.

Now you are ready to connect the speakers to your computer. The hole you are looking for should have a lime green ring around it. It is possible that you may have to buy an adaptor for the speakers if they do not fit into a port on your computer.

Most computer power cords are thick and round. One end should be a standard household plug, and the other should have three slots that are arranged parallel but in a triangular pattern. Insert this end into the back of the computer and the other end into a battery backup power supply. The battery backup protects your computer from surges and gives your computer the opportunity to save any data before shutting down.

The monitor should also be connected to the power. Once connected, there is a button on the front that will turn on the monitor.

You may also want to connect the USB cord from your printer and the Ethernet cord from your internet router at this time.

Now you will need to turn on the computer. The power switch is located on the front of the computer. Press it in and you should hear whirring noises as everything starts up. After the computer starts, it will lead you through setting up Windows for your system.…

What Is Internetworking ?

Internetworking involves connecting two or more computer networks via gateways using a common routing technology. The result is called an internetwork (often shortened to internet).

The most notable example of internetworking is the Internet (capitalized), a network of networks based on many underlying hardware technologies, but unified by an internetworking protocol standard, the Internet Protocol Suite (TCP/IP).

The network elements used to connect individual networks are known as routers, but were originally called gateways, a term that was deprecated in this context, due to confusion with functionally different devices using the same name.

The interconnection of networks with bridges (link layer devices) is sometimes incorrectly termed “internetworking”, but the resulting system is simply a larger, single subnetwork, and no internetworking protocol (such as IP) is required to traverse it. However, a single computer network may be converted into an internetwork by dividing the network into segments and then adding routers between the segments.

The original term for an internetwork was catenet. Internetworking started as a way to connect disparate types of networking technology, but it became widespread through the developing need to connect two or more local area networks via some sort of wide area network. The definition now includes the connection of other types of computer networks such as personal area networks.
protocol, such as The Internet Protocol is designed to provide an unreliable (i.e., not guaranteed) packet service across the network. The architecture avoids intermediate network elements maintaining any state of the network. Instead, this function is assigned to the endpoints of each communication session. To transfer data reliably, applications must utilize an appropriate Transport LayerTransmission Control Protocol (TCP), which provides a reliable stream. Some applications use a simpler, connection-less transport protocol, User Datagram Protocol (UDP), for tasks which do not require reliable delivery of data or that require real-time service, such as video streaming
Networking models

Two architectural models are commonly used to describe the protocols and methods used in internetworking. The Open System Interconnection (OSI) reference model was developed under the auspices of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and provides a rigorous description for layering protocol functions from the underlying hardware to the software interface concepts in user applications. Internetworking is implemented in Layer 3 (Network Layer) of the model.

The Internet Protocol Suite, also called the TCP/IP model, of the Internet was not designed to conform to this model and does not refer to it in any of the normative specifications (Requests for Comment) and Internet standards. Despite similar appearance as a layered model, it uses a much less rigorous, loosely defined architecture that concerns itself only with the aspects of networking. It does not discuss hardware-specific low-level interfaces, and assumes availability of a Link Layer interface to the local network link to which the host is connected. Internetworking is facilitated by the protocols of its Internet Layer.…
